Nissan Receives Logistics Services From DFDS

Denmark based shipping and logistics company DFDS has signed a deal to provide logistics services to Nissan in order to facilitate the production of its new car INFINITI Q30.

The logistics company is expected to invest around DKK40m for equipments to facilitate the contract.

Under the agreement, DFDS will be responsible to get the parts from Nissan's German suppliers and deliver them to Nissan's production line in Sunderland, UK.

The logistics company highlighted that 40 trailers will be delivered to the production site each within a 30-minute window.

Nissan will be setting up a control tower in DFDS' Hamburg office to plan and control the flows of the vehicles.

According to DFDS, more than 300 mega trailers with special security, safety, and GPS tracking will be purchased as part of the agreement.

The services are expected to start in November 2015.
